 Careless

Green eyes scanned the sky as dark clouds rolled by. It wasn't going to rain, since the clouds didn't take up most of the sky. The sun was still shining blindly, causing some blindless to the fae's eyesight. The grass was covered with dew, the water soaking through the small hair on her legs, making them feel cold from the slight breeze. Indeed this place wasn't a good hiding spot. Prey and predator could be seen, definately making hunting sure to be difficult. This place would be more suitable for deer and smaller animals. They could see land from far away, and being able to see all around them would help them from being attacked by predators, unless there was a large group of them at once.

Akiko wasn't there to hunt. She was there only to relax. The rumors about the fight near these lands struck her curiosity. Her opinion on this was to only kill the diseased and let them rest, helping them get through the roughest part of life. Living it, and espeacially in their state. But only knowing about the battle didn't help her in finding out who the Dreamers were. She had no idea what their scent was like, nor how the looked. But she suspected if a wolf had some oddity about them, physical or their personality, they would be diseased. She couldn't take chances in these parts.

The fae rose and stretched her form, all she had done today was lie about. She had eaten the left over carcass of a deer. It was rotten, thought the wolf wasn't picky. She knew that if she didn't eat what she could she wouldn't be able to survive. She had even resorted to eating plants, though they had given her a short sickness. Sometimes it wasn't easy being a carnivore. Cranium rose and she looked over the hills, seeing some rabbits hop around and go underground. Maybe she would get a hare today? The thought of it made her lick her lips.

No one knows what its like to be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes
No one knows what its like to be hated
To be fated to telling only lies
But my dreams
They arent as empty
As my conscience seems to be

One thing that startled many when first glancing upon Zero was his odd blue eyes that seemed, at first, almost pupiless. This, of corse, was untrue; his seemingly blind eyes merely looked that way because of the Dream - Zeros pupils are retracted to a size so small that they were near invisible. It was as if the light about them was to the suns intensity, forcing his pupils to become so small. That, also, was untrue; a lie. The dream did lie to its victims. Infact; that was all it ever did. It forced dilusions upon those it cursed, and forcedthem to do unthinkable things. Some Dreamers belived the dream, and followed suit. But not Zero. He fought the disease, and despite it taking over countless times during the time he had been infected, he was often able to stop himself from going too far. Most of the time.

The illusion was burning into his wide, frightened eyes and he stumbled sideways upon the grass lands as if starving or dying - the Dream showed him horrific images of canines and of his family. The images flashed through his skull, trying to manipulate him into becoming a murderer. Of corse, if he was to kill, it ouldnt be the first. He thought back upon that poor dog he had left behind. He had killed it without reasonand was disguisted with himself for it. He still wasnt sure why he acted this way, and only part o him was aware that the Dream had stricken him. The other part of Zero was in denial - this wasnt happening at all. He was fine, just ill - it would go away eventualy, right?

Wrong, the other side muttered, and Zero knew it was right. He would never go back to the placid wolf he had been before. That soul was long gone. But he could at least try to fight what the disease that was consuming him. Closing his eyes, he orced back clear memories he knew (or at least believed) were true and smiled to himself. His eyes were unsheathed once more, now normal and ilated; yet with the same sickly blue hue. He was still stumbling like a drunkard as dizziness swarmed his brain, yet he could see clearly and as his eyes passed over a lone wolf in the distance, he felt no killing intent stir. The urge to attack was upon him, but he fought his own muscles, and though this caused him to tense up in a strange way (changing his walking style to a slightdisagonal limp) he at least controlled himself enough to pass by without hurting the stranger. Ashe walked by, he nodded his head in her general direction as a greeting, but said nothing. The old social Zero had been brushed away; painted over with an almost mute couterpart.

Hunger for rabbits had distracted her for a moment. Watching them eat calmly, as though she weren't there. Her stomach growled, and some went down in their holes again. Even for her hunting could be a problem. A similar scent came to the air and she turned her head, seeing a wolf pass by. He looked towards her, and then he went on with his own buisness. She watched him for a moment, then looked back to the rabbits. Tired of being taunted, she stretched her legs again, and opened her mouth a little, panting. She looked around all of the hills. There was nothing easy that she could catch, and she was somewhat too lazy to try and get a rabbit for herself.

Akiko looked in the direction of the other wolf again and padded towards him. She needed some help and direction, to know where everything was and what pack lived where. This was the first canine that she had seen in a few days, so she thought she'd better get some help while she could. Her paws passed over the grass, the grass blades slightly tickling the bottom of her paw pads. Once in every few minutes she would look around, incase another wolf was around that she would be able to talk to, but she continued.

Then she remembered about the Dreamers. This one could be one of them, and how could she tell if he was one. His scent was normal, and she didn't suspect anything so far. Though she finally got in close range of the male and barked once, trying to get his attention. She padded closer to him, looking at him in the eyes and noticing the strange blue color in them. It was different, since she rarely met another wolf who would have blue eyes alone. "Greetings." She started, her ears raised high on her head.
